I'm glad I'm not the only one running into this exact same problem.
Negative on graphics driver update. Updating graphics drivers is no help. I just spent the last two hours wrangling them and colour profiles for my oddball monitor, and I log back in, and it's the exact same story. I now have the latest graphics drivers available for my card.
Here's my view of the same problem. Here's my DXDiag.

The problem with the white stripe seems to be with the way the Fittings window is displaying the PowerGrid and CPU numbers. Either the white stripe originates in that area where the numbers ( 233 / 267 CPU, 1354 / 1400 PG) should be, or the white stripe is underneath that area and the numbers aren't there at all.
I don't believe it's a graphics driver issue, because I have the same problem with the newest drivers available.

The Known issues thread is being updated regularly so please be sure to check if QA have validated a reported issue and suggested a workaround.
The white stripe thing isn't mentioned there. Is QA aware of this? This isn't an isolated problem, there's a lot of folks reporting the same issue, and graphics drivers don't appear to be the culprit. But it does affect ATI X-series cards.

anyone else getting this?

Whoa, hello. That's a new variant on the white stripe issue that myself and several other people have been having. It always seems to be a problem with the CPU / Powergrid numbers on the fitting window. But usually, as the name implies, there's a white stripe covering that area and going straight to the left screen edge. That simply blank spot is new, but probably systemic of the same issue.
